It was only a short time ago that there was the crisis over "Israeli withdrawal" from Hebron.  At that time, January oflast year, the result was the "Hebron Agreement" brokered by the Americans.  The "Peace Process", then on a kind of media "death watch", was reborn we were told by the politicians and their horde of keptanalysis and think-tanks!  Another breakthrough agreement had been miraculously achieved the media compliantly chanted!   But the result -- quite foreseeable at the time however politically incorrect it was to then protest in public -- has been a growing patternof killings, violence and repression.  What the Americans have wrought,working in tandem and on behalf of the Israelis of course, is a mini-Northern Ireland in the historic city of Abraham.  Indeed, the recent Israeli "settlers" "Purim Parade" through Hebron was all too reminiscentof the ethnic parades through Belfast streets.    Back when the Hebron Agreement was forced upon the Palestinians --another of the terrible agreements signed by Yasser Arafat in return for money, guns, and authority -- MER immediately recognized it for what it was.  While the major newspapers and networks proclaimed another breakthrough agreement, MER immediately forecast chaos and violence,publishing the following analyses and information which can and shouldbe read by all who want to understand what is happening now, just a yearlater.
