THE TWO "NAKBAS" (DISASTERS) -- THEN AND NOW

MER - WASHINGTON - 5/19:
The Arabic word "Intifadah" has become an internationally known expression; and maybe "Nakba" will have the same fate. Sometimes a refreshingly candid comment that reflects reality far more concisely than all the scholarly articles and lectures catches our attention. Even with the severe repression and intimidation people are being subjected to in the now doubly-occupied territories, there are still honest, thoughtful, and courageous people.

THE "PEACE PROCESS" IS A DISASTER

There are two Nakbas. One started 50 years ago, the other three years ago [with the peace process]. We have no rights... The peace process is a disaster. Both sides just give us words. It's like a game. But the Israelis have guns, and we have stones."
