About
News, Views, and
Analysis Governments, Lobbies, and Associated Interest Groups Don't
Want You To Know!
There are many sites on the Internet
well-financed by business interests, indirectly
by governments, oftentimes by public relations groups or lobbies
masquerading as
"Institutes"
or "Foundations" or "Think-Tanks."
MER is very different
and quite unique. MER is totally independent, refreshingly
candid, uniquely insightful. From the earlliest days in
1996 people have said things like this about MER: "Fearlessly
tells the truth", writes Professor Glenn Perry (Political
Science Dept, Indiana State Univ). "I
am fascinated by the wealth of information and accurate coverage",
writes
a former CNN World Report correspondent from Beirut. "Rarely
do we ever find an organization that can so impressively report what's
really going on. I'm in love with MER!" writes
a
Muslim woman college student in California. "The
work you are doing is extremely important... Many people here [in
Israel]
get MER," writes Professor Tanya Reinhart from Tel Aviv
University. "Thank you for
your courage, for the excellent reviews and articles and
for the effort... I salute you in solidarity,"
writes
Dr. Eyad Sarraj from the Gaza Strip." *
MER's purpose
has always been is to distill and clearly present the most incisive and
honest, the most insightful
and independent, information and analysis about what is
really
going on in today's Middle East as well as in Washington about the
Middle
East. We continue to do so even though we have had to
substantially cut back. Our unique weekly TV program --
produced for a decade and shown on all the major cable systems in the
greater Washington, DC area -- had to be discontinued some years
ago. But the many hundreds of programs are now being made
available for watching on the Internet. The MER archives provide
a truly unique chronicle of what has really happened since we began in
1996.
The
founder and publisher of MER is Mark
Bruzonsky. MiddleEast.Org is now published in
association with WashReport.com,
the new "Better Than The Drudge Report!" place to go.

world.
** For the archives section in the early days
of MiddleEast.Org there was an MER
Publishing Committee which included experts from many countries and
of many religious backgrounds. MER was in those years published
with the help of independent
experts and professors throughout the world who have come together to
establish
the Committee
On The Middle East -- see the list of persons on the COME Advisory
Committee -- which is no longer active.
