WHAT CAMP DAVID II IS REALLY ALL ABOUT

The main thing that is going to come out of Camp David II is a "Palestinian State" -- though one much more in name than in reality.
The main reason this is going to happen is that this is what the Israelis want. It is in fact the repackaged fulfillment of Israeli schemes that go way back to various "autonomy" plans put forward by various Israeli Generals and Prime Ministers, among them Menachem Begin, Ariel Sharon, and Yitzhak Rabin.
By getting Yasser Arafat to sign on to a disjointed and everywhere surrounded and controlled "Palestinian State" on about 15% of what was Palestine when today's refugees were forced out, the Israelis get a deal they never imagined before Oslo that any Palestinian leader would or could accept. They also get to keep the great majority of the settlements and settlers who have illegally occupied the West Bank since the 1967 war, whether they officially now annex these areas or not -- comprising about 10% of the actual land area but with special roads, access to water and agricultural resources, and the backing of the Israeli army, all of which will make it possible for them to dominate much of the region and to still further expand in it.
Now in the 21st century, the Arabs remain so weak, their regimes so
incompetent and co-opted, their people so repressed, that Western-annointed
"Arab leaders" still receive summonses to attend conferences in far away
lands designed to give away
or sell off rights that other peoples in the world would never contemplate
parting with.
And oh yes, the price tag for all this!
Well, that too is one of the main reasons for drawing things out at Camp David II rather than just reaching the same agreement back at home in Jerusalem and Ramallah..
The Arafat Regime, already guilty of tremendous corruption and thievery,
is demanding and will get billions yearly. Of course it is a bribe intended
to benefit a small group of Arafat cronies, businessmen, banks, and investment
companies -- who do they
think they are kidding. The fact that the Palestinian standard
of living has actually declined since Arafat "returned", that he heads
a mafiaso-style regime, that key Arafat lieutenants have become multi-millionaires
by stealing much of the money that was supposed to benefit the Palestinian
people in the past...all this is being shoved under the rug by Bill Clinton
in his quest for historical redemption and a Nobel Peace Prize.
And the Israelis are demanding, and will get, more billions yearly as
well. Israeli military might to dominate the region both on their
own behalf and in tandem with the USA will be increased even further.
And American foreign policy will continue to be
tremendously influenced and twisted by the Israeli/Jewish lobby which
all-but-controls the Clinton/Gore Administration.
