Just for a moment forget about WHAT happened on 11 September and try to analyse WHY 11 September happened. The USA is trying to 'seek and punish' the perpetrators but has ended up killing many innocent civilans in Afghanistan. Of course if Osama bin Laden had anything to do with this event, he appears to have escaped and by all accounts Al Qaida, a product of CIA, has largely escaped unscathed and is thriving in Pakistan. USA is now about to do the same in Iraq. Whether Saddam Hussain is deposed, killed or captured remains to be seen but the vast majority of dead in Iraq will be civilians. Just as USA wants to seek and punish the 'perpetrators' of the attack on 11 September, the people who were responsible for 11 September may have wanted to 'punish' the system and the country that has caused them to be so desperate. They end up targeting the symbols of such a nation, namely the symbols of capitalism, the pentagon and possibly the White House. However unlike USA with it's limitless military power, that the USA has used with impunity, the 'perpetrators' of the crime on 11 September did not have the same resources so they chose the symbols rather than the 'chase the man' responsible for their misery.
There is no question that the people who committed this crime were desperate for the world to 'hear what they had to say'. Over decades the plight of Palestinians, Egyptians, Libyans, Saudis, Iraqis and Lebanese had been totally ignored by US and its allies and they have steadfastly supported Israel in every thing that Israel has done. The double standards that USA has adopted when it comes to Israel vis a vis Palestinians is blatantly obvious when you look at it critically. There are numerous resolutions of UN since 1967 demanding that Israel withdraws from Paletinian lands and dismantle the illegal settlements but there has never been any enforcement of those resolutions by USA. However when it comes to Arab states, they are 'made' to adhere to UN resolutions. Even those actions that are not sanctioned by UN are followed with impunity. The UN never approved the so called 'no fly zone' over northern and sourther Iraq after the Gulf War. However US and British planes for the last 10 years have continued to bomb and kill Iraqi civilians without any UN mandate for them to control Iraqi airspace. For the Palestinians and Arabs talking and pleading has got them no where, so what else can they do????? Do you have any suggestions about how to solve this impasse?

The u.s are happy to dictate to the rest of the world how to behave. Yet the u.s are not willing to play by the international rules.
The u.s is a loose cannon in the world community and must be restrained lest we enter ww3. BTW-Israel thanks you america for your guns and ammunition in which to wage limitless warfare on ordinary Palestinian civvies.

Saddam may be a bad man. We may not like his policies. We may not think he is the best person to rule Iraq.

But what right do we have to invade a sovereign country?? Seems to me the Bush administration has been desperately doing a lot of talking. You hear Condoleeza, and Donald talking for all they are worth, trying to convince us of the necessity to strike Iraq. But as yet they have not given any real reason why apart to speak in general terms of September 11.

Seems to be that the US realised they made a mistake back in 91 in not toppling Saddam when they had the chance. Now they are using 9/11 rhetoric to push through their agenda.

No wonder Europe and the rest of the world doesn't agree.

And as for going on about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction!! PLEEEAASE!!!! How about China, Pakistan, India, Russia??? And how about the good ole US of A who is the only country ever to use one. The Pakistanis and Indians are more likely to use these sorta weapons at the moment as they are at each others throats. How come the US ai'nt striking these countries?

Why didn't we immediately start bombing Israel when they started ILLEGALLY amassing Nukes? They steal our technology then, being compulsively mercantile people they, sell it to our enemies! WHY THE HELL DON'T WE BOMB ISRAEL? The answer is clear, because the US is living under Israel occupation. That's why. Clear and simple. They've flocked to our media and our government positions. We'd all me outrage if every (or most) commentator, government official, news and tv magnates wore a towel on their head. We'd be outraged to drive by the Mohammed Bagooba Center rather than the Jacob Javits Center. I wonder if every Jew involved in our political 'discussion' wore a yarmulka; I wonder if the American people would wake up to the one sided 'Israel First' policy of the US? Shit!
